Tyer Recipe
Hook Bent Rods purple painted jig hook, 1/4 oz, 1/4 oz jig head
Thread Black 6/0
Materials
Marabou tail Purple marabou (Two feathers)
Sili legs Purple / hot pink rubber legs (3 legs)
UV Polar Chenille body Hot pink chenille or estaz (One strand)
How to tie it
Mount the 1/4 oz purple jig hook and lay a full base layer of black thread, covering the shank completely.
Take three sili legs, lay them across the thread and tie them in right behind the jig head. Pull them to length so the finished legs run about one shank length, then bind the butts down all the way back to the bend.
Tie in two purple marabou feathers at the bend for the tail, matched to about the same length as the legs, and trim the butts.
Move the thread forward to just behind the jig head and tie in the hot pink UV polar chenille.
Wrap the polar chenille forward to the head to form the body, stroking the fibres back on every turn so the body stays full, and tie it off.
Whip finish behind the jig head, three passes of about four turns each, and cut the thread to finish the fly.
