Tyer Recipe

  • Hook curved scud/pupa hook, 14-16
  • Thread black 8/0

Materials

  • Tail Claret marabou (few fibers)
  • Body dubbing Claret ice dub (thin dubbed rope)
  • Rib Fine silver or copper wire (1 strand)
  • Bead (optional) Black or copper slotted tungsten bead (1 small)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and wrap to the bend above the barb.
  2. Tie in a short sparse claret marabou tail about half a shank long.
  3. Dub a slim claret body forward to behind the eye, keeping the profile small.
  4. Rib with wire in 5-6 open turns and tie off.
  5. Lightly pick out the body for movement, then whip finish at the eye.
