How to tie it
Slide the 1/8 inch brown magic bead on with the wide end toward the eye. Start the hot orange thread behind the eye, take a couple of turns over a clump of white Antron so it points forward, trim, whip finish, cut, and push the bead forward over the gill butts.
Restart the hot orange thread behind the bead and tie in both the 0.2mm brown wire and the 0.75mm anti-static bag strip together, wrapping back toward the bend and keeping both materials along the side of the shank so the underbody stays thin.
At the bend, take 6-7 wraps of the hot orange thread behind the tie-in point to form a small orange butt, then move the thread forward and whip finish it off behind the bead and cut.
Start the blue dun thread behind the bead, wind it back to the tail and forward again, building a smoothly tapered body, then whip finish it behind the bead and cut.
Start the brown thread at the bead, then wrap the brown wire forward as the first rib in about 7-8 even turns, tie it off behind the bead and windmill off the tag.
Follow the wire up with the anti-static bag strip, laying it just behind each wire turn so a thin stripe of blue dun body shows between the two ribs, and tie off behind the bead.
Build a rust-coloured thread thorax right behind the bead, level with the bead diameter, then whip finish and cut.
Pull the gills back over the bead and snip them off right at the back of the bead so they stand out short and prominent.
With a bodkin, dab pink Gulff resin low on each side of the thorax and draw it up toward the bead to form two small wing buds, and cure with the UV light.
Coat the whole body evenly with thin clear UV resin and cure to finish the fly.
