Slide the 1/8" Brown Magic bead to the eye. Start the 12/0 Hot Orange thread at the eye, bind a clump of White Antron for the gills with a couple of turns, snip, whip finish, then push the bead back over the gill butts.
Restart the Hot Orange thread behind the bead. Bind in the 0.2mm brown wire and the anti-static bag strip together right behind the bead and bind them back along the side of the shank to the bend, keeping the underbody thin.
At the bend take six or seven wraps of the Hot Orange thread behind the tie-in point to form a small orange butt. Advance the thread and whip it off behind the bead.
Start the 8/0 Blue Dun thread behind the bead, wind it back to the butt and forward again, building a body with a slight taper. Whip finish behind the bead.
Start the 8/0 Rust thread behind the bead. Wrap the brown wire forward first, about seven or eight evenly spaced ribs, seat it and windmill off the tag.
Follow the wire up with the anti-static bag strip, laying it beside each wire turn so a thin stripe of Blue Dun shows between them. Seat it behind the bead.
Build the Rust thread thorax up level with the bead, whip finish and cut.
Pull the gills back over the bead and snip them right behind the bead so they stand short and prominent.
With a bodkin, dab a small drop of Gulff Pink Attack UV Resin low on one side of the thorax and draw it up toward the bead; repeat on the other side to form two wing buds. Cure.
Coat the whole body evenly with thin clear UV resin and cure.
