Tyer Recipe

  • Hook jig hook, 8-14
  • Thread Red 8/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Copper or black slotted tungsten bead (1)
  • Marabou or pine-squirrel tail Red marabou (small tuft)
  • Dubbing body Red ice dub (as needed)
  • Wire rib Copper wire (1 length)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the slotted bead onto the jig hook and start thread behind it.
  2. Wrap to above the barb and tie in a red marabou tail about one shank long.
  3. Tie in the wire rib, then dub a slim tapered red body toward the bead.
  4. Rib the wire forward in open spirals and tie off.
  5. Pick out the body slightly and whip finish behind the bead.
