Streamer · Trout · Beginner · 1 version

Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Streamer/leech, 2X-3X long, 6-10
  • Thread Brown 8/0

Materials

  • Marabou Blood brown (1 plume for tail)
  • Marabou or micro chenille Blood brown (body)
  • Bead (optional) Copper or black slotted tungsten bead (1, sized to hook)

How to tie it

  1. If using a bead, slide it to the eye, then start thread behind it and lay a base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a blood-brown marabou tail about one and a half hook lengths long at the bend.
  3. Twist a length of blood-brown marabou into a rope and wrap it forward to build a slim tapered body, or palmer micro chenille forward.
  4. Wrap forward to just behind the bead or eye, keeping the body slender and mobile.
  5. Whip finish and cement.
