Flashabou body Gunmetal gray flashabou (About 3 strands)
Stretch Flex rib Red buzzer wrap (One strand, about 6 turns)
How to tie it
Slide the 5/32 inch black tungsten bead onto the hook with the wide end facing the eye and push it back.
Start the wine thread behind the eye, tie in a small clump of white Antron so it points forward over the eye, whip finish and cut the thread, then slide the bead forward over the Antron butts. Leave the gills long for now.
Restart the thread behind the bead and tie in a strand of red Stretch Flex at the midpoint of the shank, wrapping the tag back down the shank so the underbody stays thin, then bring the thread back to the bead.
Tie in about 3 strands of gunmetal gray Flashabou, also at the 50% point, wrap the tags back and bring the thread forward again.
Wrap the Flashabou forward to form a thin body and tie it off behind the bead.
Wrap the red Stretch Flex forward in about 6 evenly spaced turns, pulling it hard as you go so it stretches thin and turns translucent. You should see the gunmetal gray glowing through it, and tie it off behind the bead.
Build a small tapered wine-thread thorax right behind the bead, then whip finish and cut the thread.
Trim the white Antron gills to about an eighth to a quarter of an inch off the front of the bead to finish the fly.
