Tyer Recipe

  • Hook 3XL streamer hook, 6-10
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Tail Marabou (1 plume)
  • Body Chenille (1 length)
  • Rear hackle Contrasting rear hackle (1 feather)
  • Palmer hackle Main color (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread at the eye and wrap a base back to the bend.
  2. Tie in a marabou tail one hook-length long at the bend.
  3. Tie in a contrasting rear hackle and take two or three turns as a wound collar over the tail base.
  4. Tie in the palmering hackle and the chenille at the bend.
  5. Wrap the chenille forward to two eye-widths behind the eye and tie off.
  6. Palmer the second hackle forward in open even turns over the body and tie off.
  7. Form a neat head and whip finish.
