Disco Warrior Rubber Legs

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 2XL-3XL nymph/stonefly hook, 6-12
  • Thread Black or brown 140 denier

Materials

  • Bead Gold or copper tungsten bead (Sized to hook)
  • Weight Lead (A few wraps under the body)
  • Tails/Antennae Black/brown barred material (Round rubber, front and back)
  • Legs Barred rubber (2-3 pairs sili/round legs)
  • Body Peacock/UV variegated (Flashy 'disco' chenille or ice-dub brush)
  • Flash UV/holographic flash (Blended into the body)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the tungsten bead to the eye, add a few lead wraps behind it, and start thread.
  2. Tie in a rear pair of round-rubber tails splayed in a V past the bend.
  3. Bind in the flashy disco chenille or spin a UV ice-dub brush and wrap a segmented body forward.
  4. Anchor 2-3 pairs of rubber legs along the sides with figure-8 wraps so they kick.
  5. Add a front pair of rubber antennae reaching over the bead, then a small collar of dub.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
