Dirty Worm
Nymph · Trout · Intermediate · 1 version
Reference Recipe
- Hook 1XL-2XL scud/nymph hook, 10-16
- Thread Red or brown 70 denier
Materials
- Bead Copper or black (optional) bead (Tungsten, sized to hook)
- Body Wine/brown/red (Squirmy worm or ultra chenille)
- Hot spot Fluorescent red laser wrap (Thread collar)
How to tie it
- Slide on the bead if used and start thread at mid-shank.
- Lay a thread base and bind the center of the squirmy strand at the middle of the hook.
- Bind the rear half down along the bend so one worm end trails past the bend.
- Advance thread forward and secure the front half so the other end reaches past the eye.
- Build a small fluorescent hot-spot collar behind the bead to break up the body.
- Whip finish and add a touch of cement, keeping thread off the stretchy material.
