Reference Recipe
- Hook 4XL streamer hook (e.g. TMC 5263), 2-8
- Thread Tan 3/0 monocord
Materials
- Cone Copper/brass cone (Large, mounted mid-shank)
- Weight Lead (.025 wraps behind the cone)
- Flash Gold/copper/pearl Flashabou (Sparse, tied from the inside)
- Belly Cream semperfli cashmere monkey (Temple dog / arctic fox body fur)
- Wing Tan carapace (Marabou plume)
- Collar Bonefish tan (Arctic fox)
- Head UV tan material (Ice dubbing)
- Eyes Gold holographic flex chenille (3/16 adhesive, coated)
How to tie it
- Wrap lead onto the mid-shank, slide the copper cone up against it, and start thread behind the cone.
- Build a spread-out skeleton of arctic fox and marabou behind the cone so it flares wide but stays sparse, half the fur you think.
- Tie flash in from the inside of the wing so it glints through subtly rather than sitting on top.
- Add a cream fox belly and a tan marabou wing, then a bonefish-tan fox collar in front of the cone.
- Dub a UV-tan ice-dub head ahead of the cone and set the adhesive eyes into it.
- Whip finish at the eye and lock the head with a drop of resin.
