Dirty Bug Yarn (Semperfli) Green caddis / rhyacophila (One length for the body plus a few fibres for the feelers)
Wire Copper or gold fine wire (One length for the rib)
How to tie it
Start the thread behind the eye and wrap a smooth base back to the start of the bend.
Tie in a short wisp of the green Dirty Bug Yarn fibres at the bend so a few strands trail behind as the caddis's feelers. Keep them very short.
Tie in the wire rib at the same point.
Tie in the length of Dirty Bug Yarn and wrap it forward in touching turns to the 80% point, building a slightly tapered, buggy body, then tie it off and trim.
Counter-wrap the wire forward through the yarn in evenly spaced open ribs, which both segments the body and locks the yarn down; tie it off and helicopter the tag away.
Build a short dark thread collar in the front 20% of the shank, wrapping through the wire tie-off to bury it.
