Reference Recipe
- Hook Popper/stinger hook (wide-gap, humped shank), 6-10
- Thread Chartreuse or to match 140 denier
Materials
- Body White/chartreuse material (Pre-shaped small foam or cork popper head)
- Tail White/chartreuse material (Bucktail, one shank length)
- Flash Pearl flashabou (6-8 strands Krystal Flash)
- Legs Barred rubber legs (2-3 pairs rubber legs)
- Hackle Matching hackle (One saddle, palmered collar)
How to tie it
- Start thread at the bend and lay a thread base where the tail sits.
- Tie in a sparse bucktail tail one shank length long, then add pearl flash over it.
- Wrap a palmered saddle-hackle collar in front of the tail and sweep it back.
- Slot or glue the small foam popper head onto the front of the shank, cupped face forward.
- Poke 2-3 pairs of rubber legs through the sides of the body so they splay.
- Whip finish at the very front and seal the thread at the nose.
