How to tie it
Start the black thread and wind to the hook point; tie in the gold oval and wrap a neat tag, keeping it underneath and checking for gaps.
Tie in a golden pheasant crest tail with a couple of wraps, then pull and twist it into position and lock it with soft wraps so it doesn't rotate.
Tie in the gold mylar and the royal blue floss ahead of the tail bump; make three passes of floss forward and back to build an even, richly colored body over the black thread.
Rib the body with the gold tinsel (one turn at the back, then evenly forward) and tie off, cleaning up any stray floss.
Tie in a wing of natural white calf tail (cleaned of stray hairs), reaching back to about halfway down the tail, using a soft pinch wrap.
Tie in the kingfisher-blue hackle behind the eye and wind a backward-swept collar, pushing any forward barbs back.
Build a small head, whip finish and add head cement.
