Materials

  • Tail Brown hackle fibers (sparse)
  • Body Peacock herl (slim)
  • Rib Copper wire (spiral)

  • Cheeks Jungle cock, optional (small)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the wet hook and run brown thread to the bend.
  2. Tie in a sparse bunch of brown hackle fibers as a short tail, then catch in fine copper wire for the rib.
  3. Wrap 3-4 peacock herls forward as a slim body to just short of the eye and tie off.
  4. Spiral the copper wire forward in 5-6 open turns to rib and protect the herl, then secure.
  5. Tie in a beard of brown hackle fibers under the throat, reaching to the point.
  6. Optionally set tiny jungle cock eyes as cheeks each side of the head.
  7. Build a small head, whip finish and varnish.
