Tyer Recipe

  • Hook standard dry fly, 14-16
  • Thread tan 8/0

Materials

  • dubbing Olive or tan dubbing (body)
  • hen hackle tips Medium dun hen hackle tips (2 tips for delta wing)
  • dry fly hackle Brown hackle (2-3 turns)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and dub a slim tapered body from the bend forward, stopping short of the eye.
  2. Tie in two hen hackle tips flat and splayed over the body in a spent delta-wing shape, extending just past the bend.
  3. Tie in a brown dry-fly hackle in front of the wing.
  4. Take 2-3 turns of hackle, trim the bottom fibers flat if desired for a low-riding float.
  5. Whip finish.
