Slide the tungsten bead onto the hook, secure the hook in the vise, start the thread behind the bead and wrap a base back to the bend.
Tie in a small bunch of Coq de Leon fibers for the tail, about a shank length long, at the bend.
Tie in the copper wire rib along the side of the shank back to the tail tie-in point.
Dub a slim tapered body of UV purple ice dub from the bend forward to the bead, building a little more bulk toward the front.
Counter-wrap the wire rib forward in four or five open turns; tie off behind the bead and helicopter off the excess.
Prepare a starling feather by folding back the tip and trimming to a small triangle, tie it in behind the bead, fold the fibers back and take one or two turns for a sparse soft-hackle collar; tie off.
Sweep the fibers rearward, secure with a couple of wraps, trim the excess, and whip finish behind the bead.
