Tyer Recipe

  • Hook 1XL nymph/wet hook, 12-16
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Bead (optional) Gold bead (1)
  • Dubbing body Olive/green dubbing (as needed)
  • Wire rib Copper wire (1 length)
  • Soft hackle collar Partridge/hen (1-2 turns)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye (or bead) and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in the wire rib, then dub a slim green body forward to behind the eye.
  3. Rib the wire forward in open spirals and tie off.
  4. Wrap one to two turns of soft partridge hackle as a collar and sweep the fibres back.
  5. Build a small head and whip finish.
