Run the Copper Nano Silk 18/0 between your finger and a block of cobbler's wax so it grips, start it on the dry fly hook, snip the tag and bring the thread back to the bend.
Tie in a small chunk of Tan Sparkle Dubbing at the bend, fold it back over itself and snip the shuck nice and short. Keep the rest of the dubbing for the underwing.
Spin the Green Kapok/Peacock Dubbing Mix onto the thread in a thin, tight noodle (run dry fingers over the wax if needed). Wrap forward, tightening the noodle as you go, building the body shape you want, and stop at least two eye-lengths behind the eye to leave room for the hackle.
Prepare two Tan CDC feathers by snipping just the very tip of the stem out of each. Marry them together so the stems match, lay them over the body, pull them to length so the wing is about as long as the trailing shuck, tie in and cut the butts out.
Set a tiny amount of the remaining Tan Sparkle Dubbing on top of the CDC, clean up the head area, and trim it to the length of the CDC, snipping any scraggly strands.
Prepare the Brown Grizzly hackle: pull the last few barbs down and trim either side of the stem so tiny stubs remain to help the thread grip. Wax both sides of the thread and go over the tie-in area a couple of times so wax is on the hook, shorten the thread considerably and tie the hackle in on the side.
Wind the hackle right at the base of the wing, about five turns on a size 14: a couple behind and a couple in front.
Before clipping the hackle, take about three half hitches with the half hitch tool; this also keeps the hackle out of the eye and needs no head cement with Nano Silk. Snip the hackle out, pull the thread tight and snip it.
Pull the sparkle dubbing so it is not too scraggly.
