Slide the cone to the eye and wind 12-15 wraps of lead wire over the front half of the shank, snugging it into the back of the cone. Break off the ends.
Start the pink thread gently over the lead, lock it down, then run the thread to the rear (where the barb would be).
Tie in about 18 strands of pink-over-pearl Flashabou Accent at the rear as a tail, and trim it a little longer than half a shank-length. Keep the cut-off bunch for the wing.
Tie in about 6 more strands of the same flash at the rear for the body, and return the thread to the front.
Coat the whole underbody and lead with brushable superglue, then wrap the body flash forward in slightly overlapping turns to the cone. Tie off and trim.
Coat the body with thin UV resin and cure.
Take the saved flash bunch, even it up, tie it in behind the cone with a couple of wraps, then fold it rearward and wrap over the fold so it slants back as a wing. Trim the wing to about half the shank length so it flares nicely.
Double a short piece of fluorescent pink Straggle String over the thread, tie it in, and take one and a half to two turns as a collar. Tie off and trim.
Whip finish twice tight behind the cone and snip the thread.
