Wax the Nano Silk well and start it on the hook, running the base about halfway down the bend. Trim the tag.
Tie in the fine chartreuse wire near the front and bind it back.
Tie in the olive holographic tinsel at the front, then hold wire and tinsel together along the shank and bind both down the bend. This keeps the body slim. Return the thread to the thorax position and park it with a half hitch.
Wrap the tinsel up the hook with each turn slightly overlapping the last, forming a smooth olive body. Tie off very securely and half-hitch.
Counter-wind the wire (opposite the tinsel direction), with a few turns at the very back first, then evenly spaced up the body. This mainly armours the tinsel. Tie off and helicopter the wire free.
Dub a small thorax of olive Ice Dub, just enough to add shine and prop out the hackle.
Prepare the Chickabou feather: pull the fibers down, measure the hackle length against the hook, strip off the fluff and unwanted lower fibers, and trim the tip into a small triangle anchor.
Wax the thread, tie the anchor in firmly, then wind the feather so the fibers wrap around the collar. Weave the thread through to trap the stem, sweep everything back, and take a couple of turns in front. Trim the stem.
Brush around the fly so the hackle stands evenly all round and the dubbing is buggy, sweep it back and build a neat head.
