Materials
Brass bead Gold bead (1, 1/8")
Cross-cut rabbit strip Two-tone cotton candy or creamy pink (Small piece for tail)
Chenille Gold, small (1 length for body)
Palmer chenille Pearl, small (1 length for hackle)
Nail polish or head cement Clear head cement (Dab on collar)
How to tie it
Slide the gold bead to the eye, start the red thread behind it, and lay a base back to where the barb would be.
Cut a small piece of two-tone rabbit off the hide and tie it in as a tail so both the white/cream base and the pink tips show. Take a couple of turns underneath the tail to stop it fouling.
Snip the fibers from the front of the palmer chenille to expose a bit of core string and tie it in at the rear by the core.
Do the same with the gold chenille, pick the fluff off to expose core string, and tie it in at the rear. Wind the thread forward.
Wrap the gold chenille up the shank in close touching turns, stopping just short of the bead to leave room for the collar. Tie off and trim.
Stroke the palmer chenille fibers rearward and palmer it up the body in open diagonal turns, about 5-6, leaving gold showing between wraps. Take two complete turns right at the front, tie off well and trim.
Build a small red thread collar behind the bead.
Whip finish a couple of times, trim, and dab the collar with nail polish or cement.
