Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Curved emerger/scud hook, #14-16
  • Thread Mahogany brown 8/0

Materials

  • Trailing shuck Amber/brown material (Sparse Antron or Z-lon)
  • Abdomen Mahogany (Fine dubbing)
  • Wing/emerger post Natural dun wing bud (1 CDC tip)
  • Thorax Mahogany (Fine dubbing)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and wrap back to the point above the barb.
  2. Tie in a sparse trailing shuck extending about half a hook length past the bend.
  3. Dub a slim tapered abdomen forward over the rear two-thirds of the shank.
  4. Tie in a CDC tip as a short emerger wing/post at the front third.
  5. Dub a fuller thorax around and behind the wing.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye.
