Tyer Recipe

  • Hook curved scud/nymph hook, 12-16
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Bead (hot spot) Copper or orange bead (1)
  • Marabou or micro-pine-squirrel tail Olive marabou (small tuft)
  • Dubbing body Olive ice dub (as needed)
  • Wire rib Copper wire (1 length)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the bead to the eye, start thread and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in a short olive marabou tail about half a shank long.
  3. Tie in the wire rib, then dub a slim tapered body forward to the bead.
  4. Rib the wire forward in open spirals and tie off.
  5. Pick out the body slightly, whip finish behind the bead.
