Slide the bead on wide hole forward. Start the gray thread at the front, tie the gill material in on top, trim close, add a few wraps in front so it doesn't crowd the eye, and whip off.
Slide the bead forward over the gill and trim the gill even with the hook eye.
Restart the gray thread behind the bead and begin the taper with a few wraps.
Tie in the copper brown wire and take the thread down the body until the thread hangs at about a 45-degree line from hook point to bend, taking two wraps underneath the wire at the bottom.
Spin the bobbin counter-clockwise to flatten the thread, then wrap a smooth body back up, covering the wire tie-in completely.
Build the taper by wrapping back about two bead-widths and forward again until the profile is a slim cigar. Whip finish and cut the gray thread.
Start the rusty brown thread behind the bead, then rib the wire forward in 7-8 evenly spaced turns. Tie the wire off, snug the wraps to the bead and twist the wire free.
Whip finish the rusty brown collar behind the bead and trim.
Coat the fly with brushable superglue (it won't darken the thread), then a coat of thin UV resin, and cure.
