Tyer Recipe
Hook Streamer (stainless/saltwater-safe for the beaches), 10
Thread Red 12/0 Semperfli Classic Waxed
Materials
Brass bead Gold bead (1, 1/8")
Semperflash blended flash Koala green (green with red/gold/blue) (Small bunch for tail)
Chenille Silver, small (1 length for body)
Palmer chenille Black, small (1 length for hackle)
UV resin Clear uv resin (Small amount on collar)
How to tie it
Slide the gold bead to the eye, start the red thread behind it and lay an even base back to where the barb would be.
Tie in a small bunch of koala green flash as a tail about one shank-length long.
Trim the fibers from the first bit of the palmer chenille to expose the core string, and tie it in at the rear by that core.
Strip a little silver chenille to expose its core string and tie it in the same way, tying both in by the core keeps the body slim and uniform.
Build up a few extra thread wraps right behind the bead; this makes the finished collar sit cleanly.
Wrap the silver chenille up the shank in touching turns, snug the last wrap against the bead, tie off with the thread kept close to the bead, and trim well.
Stroke the palmer chenille fibers rearward and palmer it forward in open turns so the silver body still shows between wraps. Make two complete turns right at the bead, tie off and trim.
Wind a small red thread collar tight against the bead so no bare gap remains, then whip finish twice.
