Guard hair chenille Fluorescent green guard hair chenille (1 length for body)
Monofilament Clear weed guard (1 length for rib)
Brahma hen fibers Olive brahma hen fibers (6-8 fibers for legs)
Fusion dub (tobacco) blended with semi seal (chartreuse) Tobacco/chartreuse 50/50 (Small amount for thorax)
Marker Brown permanent marker (A few markings on body)
How to tie it
Start the thread and figure-eight the black plastic eyes in about one hook-eye length back from the eye. Add a drop of resin or superglue to lock them.
Tie in the monofilament rib and bind it down the shank, taking it just around the bend.
Tie in the guard hair chenille at the rear with tight wraps and bring the thread forward to about the 80% point.
Wrap the chenille up the shank in touching turns to the 80% point, tie off and trim.
Counter-wind the mono rib forward over the body, opposite the chenille's direction. For durability. Tie off and trim.
Strip 6-8 olive Brahma hen fibers and tie a small bunch along each side reaching about halfway back, just a couple of sparse legs per side.
Wax the thread and dub the tobacco/chartreuse blend in small pinches, figure-eighting around the eyes to build the thorax. Sweep stray fibers back as you go.
Whip finish behind the eyes, then trim the thorax dubbing lightly so nothing sticks out too wildly.
Add a few brown marker dots and short lines along the body to suggest the natural's mottling.
