Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Nymph/wet, 1XL, #14-16
  • Thread Mahogany brown 8/0

Materials

  • Tail Brown permanent marker (Pheasant tail fibers)
  • Abdomen Mahogany (Pheasant tail fibers)
  • Rib Copper thorax stripe (Fine wire)
  • Flashback Pearl flashabou (Mylar/Flashabou strip)
  • Thorax Mahogany (Dubbing)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and wrap to above the barb.
  2. Tie in pheasant tail fibers for a short tail.
  3. Wrap the fibers forward to form the abdomen and rib with copper wire.
  4. Tie in a pearl flashback strip and dub the thorax.
  5. Pull the flashback over the thorax and tie down behind the eye.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye.
