Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Wide-gape grub hook, 10-12
  • Thread Orange 8/0

Materials

  • Fritz Hot orange/red fritz (short tuft (tail))
  • Blob fritz Sunburst/orange (body)

How to tie it

  1. Run thread to the bend and tie in a short bright tuft of hot fritz for the fire tail.
  2. Tie in a length of blob fritz at the mid-point of the shank.
  3. Wind the fritz forward in touching turns to the eye, stroking fibres back each turn.
  4. Secure and trim the fritz behind the eye.
  5. Whip finish and trim the body to a dense round ball, leaving the fire tail proud.
