Start the thread, run it back a little and forward again to about one eye-length behind the eye. Catch the 40lb Mono Burnt eyes on one side, twist them to centre and figure-8 them in firmly. Take the thread to the bend.
Strip one side of a Light Olive Marabou plume and bind it in for a tail about the length of the body. Pinch it to length with your fingertips; never cut marabou.
Tie a strand of Yellow Crystal Flash in on one side, fold it over to the other side and clip both to tail length.
Tie the 0.1mm Chartreuse Wire in slightly forward, bend the tag back and bind over it so it holds, then bind it back to the last tail wrap.
Tie in the 0.8mm Copper Tinsel at the rear for the back. Tie in the Golden Olive Micro Fritz at the same point and bring the thread up to the eye area.
Wind the Micro Fritz up the shank to just behind the eyes, tie off and snip the excess.
Fold the copper tinsel over the back, keeping it centred, and hold it with a couple of locking wraps. Do not cut it.
Rib forward with the wire in even turns, pulling each turn tight from underneath the hook, not from the top, so the tinsel back does not shift. Tie off and twist the wire free.
Take an Olive Brahma Hen feather, snip out the very tip, and sweep forward only the number of fibres you want as legs. Bind it in over the back, pull it to length so the legs reach along the thorax, take a couple more wraps and snip the stem.
Fold the tinsel rearward out of the way and dub a very small pinch of Olive Brown Ice Dub around the eyes; it is just for flash. Fold the tinsel forward over the thorax as the wingcase, snip and whip finish twice. Sweep the legs off to the sides.
