Monofilament eyes Clear, 40lb mono burnt to shape (1 pair)
Marabou Light olive marabou (Half a plume side for tail)
Krystal Flash Yellow flash (1 strand, each side of tail)
Flat tinsel Copper, 0.8mm (1 length for back and wingcase)
Gel Core Micro Fritz Golden olive gel core micro fritz (1 length for body)
Wire Chartreuse, 0.1mm (1 length for rib)
Ice Dub Olive brown ice dub (Tiny pinch for thorax)
Brahma hen fibers Olive brahma hen fibers (Small section for legs)
How to tie it
Start the thread and position it about one hook-eye length back from the eye. Figure-eight the burnt mono eyes in at that point, centering them, then run the thread to the bend.
Strip one side of a light olive marabou plume and tie in a tail about one shank-length long. Tie in long, then pinch to final length with your fingertips, never scissors.
Tie one strand of yellow Krystal Flash in on the near side, fold it over to the far side, and clip both to tail length.
Tie in the chartreuse wire slightly forward, bend the tag back and bind over it so it can't pull free; take it down to the last tail wrap.
Tie in the copper tinsel at the rear on top of the shank, then tie in the golden olive Micro Fritz and bring the thread up to the eye area.
Wind the Micro Fritz up the shank to just behind the eyes, tie off and trim.
Fold the copper tinsel over the back, centered, and secure with a couple of locking wraps. Do not cut it. Then rib the wire forward in even turns, pulling tight from underneath so the tinsel back doesn't shift. Tie off and twist the wire free.
Prepare an olive Brahma hen feather: remove the tip, isolate the fibers you want, and tie them in over the back so the legs sweep along each side; adjust length to about the thorax, then trim the stem.
Fold the tinsel rearward out of the way, dub a very small pinch of olive-brown Ice Dub around and between the eyes, then fold the tinsel forward over the thorax as a wingcase. Tie down behind the eye and trim.
