Deb's Creamsicle Flesh

Streamer · Steelhead · Trout · Salmon · Intermediate · 1 version

Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Salmon/streamer, up-eye or straight, 1/0-4
  • Thread Orange 6/0

Materials

  • Rabbit strip (zonker) Orange rabbit strip (1 strip, tail length one hook length)
  • Rabbit strip (zonker) Cream/white rabbit strip (1 strip)
  • Marabou Orange and white marabou (collar, sparse)
  • Cross-cut rabbit or Ice Dub Orange ice dub (as needed for head)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and lay a base back to the hook point.
  2. Tie in the cream rabbit strip at the bend so it extends one hook length past the bend as a tail.
  3. Tie in the orange rabbit strip over the cream, matching length, to create a layered orange-over-cream flesh silhouette.
  4. Advance thread and palmer or fold an orange and white marabou collar around the shank to fill the body.
  5. Dub or wrap an orange head just behind the eye to build a full flesh-fly profile.
  6. Whip finish and cement.
