Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Streamer/salmon, 2X-3X long, 2-6
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Marabou Black marabou (tail)
  • Chenille Black chenille (body)
  • Saddle hackle Black saddle hackle (palmered)
  • Chenille (egg head) Fluorescent orange/pink chenille (short head section)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and lay a base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a black marabou tail about one and a half hook lengths long.
  3. Tie in black chenille and a black saddle hackle at the bend.
  4. Wrap the chenille forward to about one eye-width behind the eye to form the leech body.
  5. Palmer the hackle forward over the body and tie off.
  6. Tie in the fluorescent orange/pink chenille and build a short round egg-head just behind the eye.
  7. Whip finish and cement.
