Marabou Brown-olive (any olive) marabou (12-15 fibers for tail, 6 for body)
Krystal Flash Blue flashabou (1 strand, doubled along tail)
Micro metal or wire Gold wire (1 length for rib)
UV resin (thin) Clear uv resin (Small drop at head)
How to tie it
Slide the gold bead to the eye and start the thread behind it, building a solid thread base down to where the bend starts.
Strip 12-15 marabou fibers from a plume and tie in a tail about one and a half shank-lengths long, wrapping right back to the bend. Pinch the flat tips off to length with your fingertips a few fibers at a time. Never scissor-cut marabou.
Tie a strand of blue Krystal Flash in on your near side, fold it over the top so it lies along the far side too, and trim both ends just slightly longer than the tail.
Tie in the gold rib and fill in behind the bead with a few thread wraps, then return the thread to just in front of the tail.
Strip about 6 more marabou fibers, snip off the curly tips, and tie them in by the tips at the rear.
Bring the thread to the front and wind the marabou up the shank as the body, finishing snug behind the bead. Tie off and trim.
Wind the rib forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns to segment the body and reinforce the marabou, wiggling it through the fibers. Take a couple of wraps behind the bead and break the wire off.
If a gap shows behind the bead, wind one or two loose marabou strands onto the thread and fill it in.
Apply a drop of thin UV resin to the thread, whip finish, trim and cure.
