Slide the bead to the eye and start the thread behind it with a jam knot, then build a thread base down to where the bend starts.
Strip the very bottom of an Olive Marabou plume, take a bunch of 12-15 fibres and bind them in for a tail about one and a half times the body length, wrapping back over to the bend and taking a couple of turns underneath. Pinch the flat tips off to length with your fingertips a few at a time, never with scissors.
Tie a strand of Blue Krystal Flash in on your near side, fold it across to the far side so it lies along both sides of the tail, and snip it just a touch longer than the tail.
Tie in the Gold Wire rib, fill in the shank behind the bead with thread, and bring the thread back to just short of the tail.
Strip about half a dozen more marabou fibres, snip the curly ends and cut the tips fairly short, then tie them in by the tips at the rear. Bring the thread to the front.
Wind the marabou forward as the body, finishing behind the bead. Tie off and trim.
Wind the rib forward in five or six even turns, wiggling it through the marabou so it segments and reinforces the body. Take a couple of turns behind the bead to fill that gap and break the wire off.
If the marabou ends short of the bead, twist one or two loose strands onto the thread and wind them to fill the collar.
Apply a drop of UV resin to the thread before the last whip finish, pull tight, snip and cure.
