Materials
Tungsten bead Brown ('magic brown') (1, 5/64")
Semperfli flat braid Cream or pearl semperfli flat braid (Short piece for gill)
Fine wire Brown fine wire (1 length for rib)
UV resin (thin) Clear uv resin (2 coats)
How to tie it
Slide the bead on wide hole first so it will slip back over the gill.
Start the black 18/0 thread at the front of the hook, tie the flat braid gill in on top with a couple of wraps, trim the tag close, take a few wraps just in front so it doesn't crowd the eye, and whip off the black thread.
Slide the bead forward over the gill and trim the gill even with the front of the hook eye.
Start the red thread behind the bead and wrap smooth touching turns all the way down and slightly around the bend, then back up. Whip off the red thread. This becomes the bleeding red butt.
Start the olive dun thread behind the bead, tie in the brown wire rib along the side, and wrap down the body. Intentionally leave a few small gaps near the rear so the red 'bleeds' through into the olive.
Give the thread a counter-clockwise spin to flatten it, then build a smooth tapered body, thickest about one bead-length behind the bead. Whip off the olive thread.
Attach the rust thread behind the bead with a whip finish holding it, then wind the wire rib up the body in 7-8 evenly spaced turns. Tie off and twist the wire free.
Whip finish the rust collar behind the bead and trim the thread.
Coat the body with thin UV resin and cure; add a second coat for a glass-smooth finish.
