Slide the bead on wide hole first so it will slip back over the gill.
Start the black 18/0 thread at the front, bind the Semperfli Flat Braid on top with a couple of wraps and snip it close. Take a few wraps just in front of the braid so it will not crowd the eye, then whip off the black thread.
Slide the bead forward over the gill and trim the gill even with the front of the hook eye.
Start the red 18/0 behind the bead, give it a counter-clockwise spin to flatten it and wrap touching turns down the shank and right around the bend, filling every gap. Wrap back up and whip off the red thread.
Start the olive dun 12/0 behind the bead and tie the Fine Brown Wire in along the side. Wrap down over it, flattening the thread with a counter-clockwise spin, to one turn behind the wire at the very back, leaving the red butt showing.
Wrap back up, deliberately missing a few spaces at the rear so the red bleeds through into the olive, then cover the rest. Build the taper by working the thread back and forward, starting each pass about one bead length further forward, so the body is thickest behind the bead. Whip off the olive thread.
Attach the rust 12/0 behind the bead with a whip finish to hold it. Wind the wire rib forward in seven or eight evenly spaced turns, tie off, hold the bobbin against the fly and twist the wire free.
Flatten the thread slightly and whip finish the rust collar behind the bead. Snip.
Coat the body with thin UV resin and cure; a second coat can follow.
