Lay a base of black thread back to the tail position.
Catch in a few Grizzly hen fibers as a tail, a little short of one body length; leave the butts, the fuzzy body will bury them.
Catch in the Oval tinsel up front and bind it all the way back to the rear.
Leave the thread at the rear and wax it well. Snip a patch of Muskrat dubbing, pull out the guard hairs, and dub a noodle, wrapping the body forward over roughly the rear two-thirds of the shank; fuzzy or lumpy is fine, the rib shapes it.
Counter-wrap the Oval tinsel forward as the rib and tie it off.
Take the Grizzly hen feather (the same one the tail came from), strip a tie-in point on the stem, and take the thread back a little so there is room for several turns. Catch the stem in, fold it back and lock it, then advance the thread to where the hackle will finish.
Wrap four or five turns of hackle forward; fibers sticking out are fine on a flymph. Catch it off and snip the excess.
Pull the fibers back, ramp the head up over the bases, whip finish, and add head cement.
