Materials
Dumbbell eyes Large (One pair)
Baitfish Emulator Flash Pearl flashabou (One length for body and head)
Grizzly hackles White barred grizzly hackles (2 feathers for side ribs)
How to tie it
Build a good thread base along the shank.
Tie in the Baitfish Emulator Flash at the rear of the shank, working the tie-in back about a quarter inch with locking wraps behind it, then bring the thread to the front.
Figure-eight the large dumbbell eyes very securely near the front, wrapping both sides and underneath. They take a beating on the rocks.
Palmer the emulator flash forward in relaxed turns, brushing the fibers rearward as you go, and stop about a quarter inch behind the eyes.
Select two white-barred grizzly hackles, line up their tips just short of the flash, and tie one flat along each side of the body as baitfish-style side ribs.
Take the remaining flash and make two or three more turns in front of the feathers to form a bushy head.
Pull the head fibers back, build a neat collar of thread behind the eyes, and finish with two or three whip finishes.
