Plush chenille (Semperfli Plushille) White, 15 mm (Short section for support post)
Baitfish Emulator Flash Pearl flashabou (One 3" strand, spun)
Polar chenille Fluorescent blue polar chenille (A few wraps for the hot spot)
Semperfli Predator Fibre White craft fur (Several small bundles for back, belly, and head)
UV resin Clear uv resin (Dab over eye wraps)
How to tie it
Secure the 35 mm Waddington shank with the front eye angled slightly up and build a solid thread base along its full length.
Tie in a 6" length of 50 lb braid doubled into a rear loop long enough to pass the trailing hook through, binding it down hard along the shank.
Figure-eight the 7/32" dumbbell eyes to the underside near the front so the fly rides hook-up, lock them firmly, and coat the wraps with UV glue.
Pierce the core of a length of silver Extreme String with a dubbing-loop spinner, spin it, double it back, and twist it into a wiggly rope; tie it in at the rear to fill the gap between shank and trailing hook.
Tie in white plush chenille and build a small post body over the rear quarter inch (two turns behind, then forward) to stop the coming fibers from collapsing.
An eighth of an inch ahead, tie in a single 3" strand of Baitfish Emulator Flash, lock it by going behind it, and spin it three times with the fibers swept rearward.
Add a few wraps of fluorescent blue polar chenille ahead of the flash as the comet's hot spot, finishing behind it to sweep it back.
Build the head in stages with small bundles of white Predator Fibre: a short tuft on top above the eyes, loop the front back under, then match it on the underside for the belly (trimmed on an angle), and add one longer bundle on top behind the eyes for the back. Leave everything long for final trimming.
Dress the barbless stinger hook separately: thread base, then another twisted Extreme String rope tied in as a tail extension so the hook rides in the middle of the fly.
Pass the trailing hook through the braid loop point-up, then trim the whole fly to a smooth baitfish taper; bull trout happily eat a 7-8 inch fly.
