Secure the 35mm Waddington Shank in the vise with the front of the shank pointed upward and build a full thread base along its whole length.
Tie in a loop of braided line for the Hook Attach, binding it down hard along the shank and leaving the loop far enough back that the trailing hook can be passed through it and swapped out later.
Figure-8 the 7/32" Dumbell eyes on the underside of the shank near the front so the fly rides eyes-up, pulling the thread as firm as it will go without breaking, then lock the wraps with a dab of UV glue.
Bring the thread to the rear. Pierce the core of a length of Silver Extreme String with a dubbing loop spinner, spin it, double it back over your finger, and twist it into a rope; tie it in at the rear to fill the gap between the shank and the trailing hook.
Tie in white plush chenille at the rear, go behind it twice, and bring it forward only a short way, sweeping the fibers back as you go, to build a small intruder-style post that keeps the following fibers from collapsing. Go behind it once more to lock it.
Move a short way forward and tie in a single strand of Baitfish Emulator Flash, going behind it to lock it. Keep the fibers pointed rearward and spin it three times.
Take a handful of wraps of Fl. Blue Polar Chenille ahead of the flash as the hot spot, finishing behind it a couple of times.
Peel off a small tuft of white Predator Fibre, about the same volume as the polar chenille, and cinch it in on top of the shank above the eyes. Lift the front end, bring it around and under, cinch it again a short way forward, and fold it back over the top. Leave it long; final length is trimmed at the end.
Repeat on the underside with a matching tuft for the belly, trimming it on an angle so it tapers, and use the trimmed-off fibre to add a little more head profile at the front.
Add one more, slightly longer bundle of Predator Fibre on top, cinched in right behind the eyes, around under the eyes, and forward, to build the back. Whip finish the shank.
Dress the barbless hook separately: build a thread base, twist a longer rope of Silver Extreme String the same way, and tie it in so it extends rearward as the tail, leaving at least a short length of bare shank at the front for the loop to cinch onto. Go behind it a couple of times and triple whip finish.
Pinch the braid loop, pass it through the hook eye, and pass the hook through the loop with the point up so it cinches tight against the thread buildup. Trim the whole fly to a tapered profile.
