Reference Recipe

• Hook Jig nymph hook, 12-14 (down to 18)
• Thread Brown/tan 70 denier

Materials

• Tungsten bead Copper/gold tungsten bead (1 (sized to hook))
• Coq de Leon fibers (tail) Natural coq de leon fibers (small clump)
• Fine wire (Semperfli 0.1 mm) Copper/silver fine wire (1 strand)
• UV resin Clear uv resin (thin coat)
• Antron/Zelon yarn (feelers) Natural/white antron zelon yarn (small tuft)
• Ice dub (thorax) Pheasant tail (small amount)

How to tie it

1. Slide the bead onto the jig hook, start the thread, and tie in a Coq de Leon fiber tail at the bend; smooth the body.
2. Tie in the fine wire at the front, counter-spin the thread to flatten it, and wrap a smooth tapered body to the bend and back.
3. Wrap the wire forward in touching turns for flash and tie off.
4. Coat the body with a thin layer of UV resin and cure.
5. Tie in a small tuft of Antron/Zelon yarn as feelers and trim short.
6. Dub a compact pheasant-tail ice-dub thorax behind the bead, whip finish and cement.
