Hook saltwater/bonefish hook (e.g. TMC 811S or Gamakatsu SC15), 6-10
Thread Tan or pink 6/0 (140 denier)
Materials
Eyes Medium red pseudo/bead-chain eyes (1 pair)
Tail Pearl Krystal Flash (small clump)
Body Pearl Krystal Flash or braid, wrapped (as needed)
Wing/collar Tan/sand pseudo hair or craft fur (1 sparse clump)
How to tie it
Tie in the red pseudo/bead-chain eyes on top of the shank one-third back from the eye; they ride point-up so the fly swims hook-up over the flats.
Tie in a sparse pearl Krystal Flash tail at the bend, about one shank length.
Wrap a slim pearl Krystal Flash (or braid) body forward to just behind the eyes.
Tie a sparse clump of tan/sand craft fur or pseudo hair as a wing/collar over the top, extending past the bend, so it drapes over the point (hook-up orientation keeps it weedless). Why: the fly is lightly dressed to sink slowly and land softly on spooky bonefish.
