Mount the long-shank hook and start orange thread at the bend.
Bind a stacked elk-hair tail about half a shank long.
Tie in a furnace hackle by the tip, dub a crystal orange abdomen over the rear two-thirds, then palmer the hackle forward in 6-7 turns and tie off at the 65% mark.
Bind a full elk-hair downwing over the body, tips just past the bend, butts trimmed.
Figure-8 a pair of rubber legs on each side at the thorax so two legs kick forward and two back.
Tie in the grizzly front hackle, dub a short gold crystal thorax around the legs to the eye, then wind the hackle through in 4-5 turns.
Tie off, build a small head, whip finish and cement.
