Reference Recipe

  • Hook Curved scud/egg hook, 8-14
  • Thread Fluorescent pink or orange 8/0

Materials

  • Egg cluster Pink/orange gut sack (sparkle egg yarn or Antron)
  • Flash Pearl Krystal Flash (3-4 strands blended in)
  • Hot spot Chartreuse or red material (1 accent loop (optional))

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and lay a thread base along the shank to the bend.
  2. Tie in a strand of sparkle egg yarn and a few strands of pearl Krystal Flash together at the bend.
  3. Pull the yarn forward and take two firm wraps to raise a small loop of egg cluster, then advance the thread a short step.
  4. Repeat to build 3-4 stacked loops of egg-and-flash up the shank so it reads as a translucent egg mass. Keep each loop small.
  5. Add a chartreuse or red accent loop at the front for a hot spot if desired.
  6. Bind everything down at the eye, whip finish and cement.
  7. Trim the loops to even, rounded clusters so the flash sparkles through the eggs.
