Coating Clear head cement (Troutline UV resin)
How to tie it
Bead the size 16 W633 with a copper tungsten and start Uni Trico 17/0 thread. A 17/0 thread is almost invisible under a pearl body, which matters here because thread bulk would dull the flash.
Tie in a short, sparse Coq de Leon pardo tail at the bend.
Wrap the pearl UV flat perdigon tinsel forward in tight touching turns to just behind the bead, keeping the edges just meeting so there are no gaps showing the thread beneath.
Whip finish behind the bead with as few turns as you can get away with.
Coat the body in UV resin and cure. The resin over pearl tinsel is what produces the glassy, light-catching finish the fly is named for, and it also armours a fragile tinsel body.
Fish it as a bright point fly on a Euro rig, especially in coloured or fast water where the flash carries.
