Crystal Flash Root beer flash (tail, rib and folded legs)
Sparkle blend dubbing Calaveras tan (body)
Mirage tinsel, medium Opal mirage tinsel medium (over the wing case)
Scud Back, 1/8 inch Amber scud back inch (wing case)
Marabou Ginger or tan marabou (2-3 barbules per side, gills)

How to tie it
Dress a size 14 Togens curved nymph hook behind a 3/32 brown magic bead with rusty brown 70 denier thread. Tie in root beer Crystal Flash just into the bend for the tail, take a couple of wraps to prop it up and trim it to about a shank length.
Tie in a second strand of the same Crystal Flash for the rib and set it aside.
Dub a thin slender noodle of Calaveras tan sparkle blend and wrap the body forward to about the 65% mark, building the taper as you go, then counter wrap the Crystal Flash rib and tie it off.
Tie in a length of medium opal Mirage tinsel centred on top, then a strip of amber Scud Back over it. The tinsel goes on first so it ends up sandwiched on top of the wing case where it flashes.
Optional but worth doing: moisten two or three barbules of ginger marabou and tie a tiny amount in on each side right in front of the Scud Back tie-in for gills, then trim them to about a quarter inch.
Dub half the thorax with pheasant tail dubbing, tie in a short strand of root beer Crystal Flash folded in half for legs, fold it out to both sides and trim, then dub the rest of the thorax tight to the bead.
Fold the Scud Back over, pushing the marabou gills down so they do not flare, lock it in centred behind the bead, then bring the opal tinsel over on top and tie it off. Whip finish and put a shot of thin UV resin over the wing case, which both makes the tinsel pop and hides any untidy tie-off.
