Nymph · Streamer · Trout · Intermediate · 1 version
Classic Recipe
- Hook heavy barbless jig hook, 10
- Thread white or grey 6/0
Materials
- Bead Slotted tungsten bead (3.8mm) (1)
- Tail/wing White/pearl marabou or light zonker (1 clump/strip)
- Body Pearl/silver ice dub or tinsel (as needed)
- Flash Pearl flash (few strands)
- Hot spot Fluorescent orange thread tag (optional) (few turns)
- Collar Soft dubbing or CDC (small pinch)
How to tie it
- Seat the slotted tungsten bead behind the eye of the heavy jig hook so it fishes point-up and jigs on the drop.
- Start thread and tie in a light-coloured marabou or zonker tail/wing about a shank-and-a-half long for a small baitfish profile.
- Add pearl flash, then dub or wrap a bright pearl/silver body forward, keeping it slim for a fast sink.
- Add an optional fluorescent orange tag as a trigger point.
- Build a small soft collar behind the bead for a baitfish head and water push.
- Whip finish behind the bead and add head cement.
