Reference Recipe

  • Hook Curved scud / emerger, 14-18
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold bead (Small tungsten (optional))
  • Abdomen Caddis green (Dubbing or Antron)
  • Rib Gold middle (Fine wire)
  • Emerger wing Dun microfibetts (CDC or Antron tuft)
  • Legs Brown silly legs nymph size (Partridge fibers)
  • Thorax Brown permanent marker (Hare's ear dubbing)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the curved hook (add a bead if you want it deeper) and tie in the gold wire rib at the bend.
  2. Dub a slim caddis-green abdomen forward to the 65% mark.
  3. Counter-wrap the wire rib in 5 evenly spaced turns and tie off.
  4. Tie in a short CDC or Antron emerger tuft over the thorax and a few partridge fibers as legs.
  5. Dub a buggy brown thorax over the tie-in points.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye.
