Creamsicle Jig

Reference Recipe

  • Hook 60-degree jig hook, 6-10
  • Thread Orange 6/0

Materials

  • Bead Gold bead (Slotted tungsten, sized to hook)
  • Tail Orange/white material (Marabou, one shank length)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (4-6 strands)
  • Body Orange permanent marker (Estaz / chenille)
  • Collar White uni stretch (Soft hackle or ice dub)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the slotted tungsten bead to the eye of the jig hook and mount the hook.
  2. Run thread to the bend and tie in an orange marabou tail one shank length long with a few strands of pearl flash, topped with a small pinch of white marabou.
  3. Tie in the Estaz at the bend.
  4. Wrap the Estaz forward to just behind the bead.
  5. Palmer two turns of soft white hackle (or dub a white ice-dub collar) behind the bead and sweep it back.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead.
