Start the Brown UTC Ultra Thread 140 behind the eye and bring it back to the bend.
Tie in four to five Rubber Legs at the bend so they stick out one and a half to two times the shank length; trim the waste and bind the ends down.
Make a dubbing loop and bring the thread up to just shy of the eye. Pull out STS Trilobal Dub, pull it apart several times to align the fibers, lay it evenly along the loop and spin it into a dubbing hackle.
Rough the spun loop with velcro or a toothbrush so no fibers are trapped, then palmer it up the shank, sweeping the fibers rearward with each turn. Capture the loop and trim.
Pull all the fibers back and take a few thread wraps up onto the dubbing so everything lies rearward; rough it up once more and stroke it back.
Tie in the 4mm Gold Dumbbell Eye near the hook eye with X-wraps and under-wraps. Paint Solarez Bone Dry over the top and underneath the eyes and cure with the UV light.
Cut a quarter-pencil clump of gray fox, remove the underfur, stack it tips down, and tie it in over the top with two or three tight wraps so it reaches about the end of the hook. Trim the waste leaving a little past the hook eye, add a few more tight wraps, and whip finish.
Paint Bone Dry over just the thread wraps, keeping it off the hair, and cure.
