Classic Recipe
- Hook Streamer, 3x long, 4-8
- Thread Brown or olive 6/0
Materials
- Claws Rabbit strip or feather tips (2)
- Body Dubbing or chenille (segmented)
- Shellback Thin Skin or scud back (over body)
- Legs Rubber legs or hackle (3 pairs)
- Eyes Mono eyes (burned) (1 pair)
- Weight Lead dumbbell eyes (1 pair underneath)
- Antennae Pheasant tail fibers (2)
How to tie it
- Mount hook, tie in lead eyes underneath for hook-up orientation
- Tie in mono eyes and antennae at what will be the head (bend)
- Build claws from rabbit strip or feather tips, proportional, not oversized
- Build segmented body forward with dubbing
- Pull shellback over each segment, tie down with rib
- Add rubber legs at intervals
- Whip finish at eye. The crayfish swims backward so the hook eye is the tail
