How to tie it
Start the white thread and tie in a short tag of mottled hen saddle fibers at the bend for the tail.
Tie in one black and two dark brown strands of Superhair, then wrap the thread forward to the thorax to create a smooth base.
Wrap the three Superhair strands together forward as a tightly segmented abdomen to the 65% mark and tie off; the black strand gives fine dark segmentation.
Tie in a strip of opal Mirage tinsel and a few gray Fluoro Fiber fibers at the front of the abdomen, pointing back.
Build a slim thread thorax, then pull the tinsel and Fluoro Fiber forward over it as a shiny wingcase and tie off.
Split the leftover butt ends to the sides as sparse legs, whip finish, and coat the whole fly with a thin layer of UV resin for a glassy, durable finish.
