Classic Recipe

  • Hook 2X-long streamer or jig hook, 6-10
  • Thread white or chartreuse 6/0

Materials

  • Bead (optional) Chartreuse painted or brass bead (1)
  • Tail Marabou, white or chartreuse (1 clump)
  • Flash Pearl Krystal Flash (2-4 strands)
  • Body Chenille or Ice Dub, chartreuse/white (1)
  • Collar Laser Dub or soft hackle (optional) (1)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the bead to the eye if using and lay a thread base.
  2. Tie in a marabou tail one half to one shank length beyond the bend, sparse, so it pulses rather than clumps.
  3. Add 2-4 strands of Krystal Flash split over the tail sides.
  4. Wrap a chenille or dubbed Ice Dub body covering 80% of the shank, slightly tapered toward the bead.
  5. Add a soft collar of Laser Dub or a turn of hen hackle behind the bead for a baitfish head profile.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
