Reference Recipe

  • Hook Standard saltwater hook, 1/0-2
  • Thread White 140 denier

Materials

  • Tail White/pearl wing flag (Polar Fibre or synthetic hair)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands lateral)
  • Body Pearl anti static bag strip (EZ-Body braided tubing)
  • Lateral line Holographic silver flashabou (tinsel strip)
  • Eyes Silver metal tape (stick-on holographic eyes)
  • Coating Clear head cement (UV resin)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start thread at the bend.
  2. Tie in a sparse, flowing tail of white Polar Fibre about two shank lengths long for a slim baitfish profile.
  3. Add a few strands of pearl flash down each side, then a strand of holographic silver as a lateral line.
  4. Slide a length of pearl EZ-Body tubing over the tail base and bind it down at the rear, then push it forward to flare a translucent, scaled body.
  5. Bind the front of the tubing down behind the eye and whip finish.
  6. Stick a holographic eye on each side of the head.
  7. Coat the head and body with UV resin and cure to lock in the eyes and make it bombproof.
